Sunflower Sunset

I saw a Facebook post a couple of days ago from a local photographer.  She said there was a field of sunflowers a couple of towns over.  My first inclination was to promptly SHUSH her to keep such a sweet location on the DL.  Whatever.  No big deal.
The next morning, I saw a mutual photographer acquaintance had already posted his shots of the field.  Ok.  Pretty neat.  I quickly contacted Nina and coerced her into shooting with me.  Later in the day our LOCAL NEWS CHANNEL posted a notice to EVERYONE ON THE PLANET that there was a really cool field of sunflowers.  OMG.
Whatever.  It's cool.  What do you do?  Right?
So we show up to see several cars lined up on the side of the road next to this crazy-huge field of sunflowers.  All neatly pointing their 'faces' east to meet the morning sun.  I sigh.  Nina and I were running a little late at about 7:15 (the sun sets at 7:40).  I grabbed the ladder from the truck bed and we launch into the field and started firing away.  Nina knew just what I was looking for.  The sun was visibly dipping over the hill on the horizon.  (Scout your locations people).  The folks that came out were leaving.  They weren't interested in the sun setting,  The incredible light.  And they certainly didn't bring anyone to shoot with.
They just wanted neat pictures of the flowers.
Me too.
